FUTURE VISUAL PREVIEW — WORK IN PROGRESS

The three new scene renders in the gallery offer a look at the art direction planned for future Primeval updates: an expanded tribal village, four raptor color variants, and grey and olive armored ankylosaurs.

These are Blender scene previews of upcoming assets. They are work in progress and are not yet part of the downloadable alpha; the final in-game appearance and layout may change.

EARLY ALPHA — BIG UPDATES AHEAD

Primeval is an early alpha build, and this is only the beginning. Many updates are planned soon, with major improvements to graphics, animation, effects, gameplay and overall polish.

My goal is to bring Primeval toward AAA-quality graphics and a much higher level of visual quality. Expanded multiplayer features are planned for later updates. The current alpha shows the foundation of the game; expect its quality and scope to grow substantially as development continues.

Primeval is a real-time strategy game set in a hostile world of forests, roaming dinosaurs and rival armies. Gather resources, grow your settlement and lead the Tribe, Orc Horde or Undead Scourge into battle.

PLAY YOUR WAY

• Versus: 1v1 through 4v4 matches and free-for-all against computer opponents, four difficulty levels, random or fixed maps.

• Survival: defend your settlement against growing dinosaur waves and incursions.

• Campaign: a prologue and nine missions across the three factions.

• LAN multiplayer, save/load, replays, records and achievements.

This is a free development build. Features, visuals and balance are still being refined. Feedback is welcome in the comments.

DOWNLOAD AND PLAY

Extract the entire Windows ZIP, open the Primeval folder and run Primeval.exe. Keep the accompanying files together. Start with the Prologue, or use the How to Play guide and Tech Tree from the main menu.

Requirements: Windows 10/11, 64-bit; DirectX 11/12 graphics. Allow approximately 350 MB for the extracted game.

BASIC CONTROLS

Left-click to select; drag to select a group. Right-click to move, gather, attack or set a rally point. Move the camera at screen edges or with configured hotkeys; click the minimap to jump. See Settings → Hotkeys for the full controls.

Press F8 during a match to save a playtest note with a screenshot and the exact game state. Notes are stored under AppData/LocalLow/Primeval/Primeval/Feedback in your user folder.
